How I Planned and Edited My Digipak

This was my first initial sketches of my digipak ideas before I moved onto photoshop

I started planning my digipak on paper by printing out a digipak template. The template I got was for a 6 panel CD case. I used a CD I had at home as a rough idea how things were laid out and fitted within the digipak, as well as looking at pictures I took when I went to CD stores and my research.

After looking from my research at layouts in digipaks around my genre, I then sketched out ideas onto my template of what I wanted to do for my CD cover. By planning out these ideas I could easily go into photoshop and bring my ideas to life. I got inspiration from my research and brought it to my own CD, by incorporating striking images while keeping my packaging minimalistic and modern. To do this I wanted my images sharp and clear, as well as keeping to a colour scheme throughout, The chosen colour scheme I wanted to be was blue, purple and pink. I also took inspiration from my own poster and wanted to use the same design to match both my digipak and poster together, this would also be great for advertising and is used by artists who bring out posters and their CDs making it clear to audiences they're related. My other ideas steamed from my music video ideas, where I have many different sceneries with beaches, I wanted this my over all theme.

With all my ideas together I took them to photoshop to develop them how I wanted.

I started by taking the original image I used for my poster and cropped it to the size of the digipak (A square) I wanted to make sure my imagine had all of the peoples body in when cropping. I then took the same fonts from my poster and layered them onto my front cover.

I took a online template of a digipak and placed my front over onto it.

I then did the same with another imagine I took in which I wanted to use in my CD cover, I chose this picture I took of the sea coming in, I liked this imagine I look because it fitted my over all colour scheme
