Photoshoot for my ancillary task

I planned my photoshoot when filming my music video because I knew I would be in the perfect set up for a photoshoot. Doing this also made sure I was matching all my finial pieces together.
I liked these photos because they were so clear and illustrated the overall theme to my music video (scenery) By doing my research into posters and cd covers I managed to notice a clear similarity which with my genre was many had images on a plain background giving room for important information (song titles and artists featured) Discovering this I wanted to make sure my poster and Cd cover had theses features.

Fonts For My Poster & Digipak

Font Research

When I was researching different fonts for my music video I came across a tutorial which would teach me how to write on words in Premiere Pro, when I was looking at this video I saw the font they used and thought it would be perfect for my music video ,my poster and my digipak. This font was listed in the description of the video and I came across a website called 'Fontspring' This website had 1000s of fonts of which were perfect for my poster.

I decided to put this font onto the poster to see what I wanted it to look like and decided I didn't like the 'New album out 1st June' I didn't like that font and colour as I thought it was very matching with all the other words I had on the poster. I also thought i'd like to have that sentence in a clearer font and small down the page. The 'bloomishly' font I wanted to use for the song name 'Cold ain't for me' as its a very bold font perfect for a sentence I want clear, I also thought being white on a colourful background instead of black would stand out more as the rest of the page is colour and black.

I then decided I wanted the 'Oceans' word to be in a different font so it was clear to the audience that oceans was the name of the artist who made the song, for his font I then used 'Mellony'
which was what I was looking for.

I then finished with these fonts, which I was very happy with and they matched my theme.

My Research into Digipak's

For my Digipak I wanted to go out and find myself CD covers i could look at for inspiration, this are the photos I took of some places I went to look at covers.

By going out and looking at on the market CDs helped me get ideas for my CD and gave me inspiration towards my project.

Music Video Poster Research

My Research into Other Music Video Posters Following My Genre

In order to find music video artists of my chosen genre of which did music video posters I began to search individual artists that were known for electronic music.

                                                        Avicii

Here is a poster by Avicii a EDM (electronic dance music) Artist, with his song
‘wake me up!’His poster is very fitting to the majority of his songs, the
poster is also very similar to his CD cover here.
The poster lets the audience know straight away what artist is also involved
In the music video (DJ YUNES BOOTLEG) As well as a bold and clear font
with the music videos name in the middle to draw all the attention to it, we
can also see how they have used ‘WAKE’ and ‘UP ‘bigger to make
the music video title clear and memorable to the audience,We also notice
how the font has a see through middle to how the picture behind, that
looking like it is the artist. I think how they have made both the title and

picture of the poster visible and in the centre of the poster is very clever as
both important parts to the poster are visible to the audience, as well as
how they have made the other artist mentioned smaller then the main
title of the song so more attention is drawn to the promotion of the song.
At the bottom of the title of the poster we also see the Avicii Logo, so for
audience unsure of who the song was made by they may recognise the
white logo, i feel like this is key when making a plain poster to have a element of
the artist themselves to familiarise the audience. The overall colour scheme of the poster is very dark
leaving the shadow/silhouette of what seems to be the artist, but due to the white lettering font the poster comes
together without shadowing any necessary parts of the promotion of the music video.

The Chainsmokers

This poster is another of which includes the image and the text in the centre of the poster
making it over all very eye catching and direct to all the important parts of information ,as well as
the background colour makes the picture and text more visible. We see here how the picture is also
fitting to the word 'closer' as both people are wrapped around each other improvising that word.
This seems to be the name of the song being promoted in which to if people didn't know
they would see by the 'The chainsmokers FT halsey' showing they're the artists who
produced this song. The font is the darkest colour in the poster making it standout on the
contrast of the white background as well as the picture behind. The white box which the writing
appears in has been created so its not opake almost transparanet , this is due to the poster
wanting to show the image behind as well as wanting to keep the text infront visble, making this
poster fit for the audience to see. The want is plain and very simple but this makes it
easy to read and the way the letters are spaced out in the word 'closer' gives a great effect
as well as standing out.
